Tailorlux participates in testing innovative cotton traceability solutions in India

Together with companies such as C&A, Marks & Spencer, Target and Walmart, digital and physical traceability solutions from Tailorlux are being tested to increase transparency in the cotton supply chain. In this effort, Tailorlux is providing the marker fiber for sampling as part of Better Cotton’s trial of innovative cotton traceability solutions in India.

The project builds on Better Cotton’s ongoing work to revise the Chain of Custody (CoC) model and revolutionize traceability in complex cotton supply chains. The goal is to make the journey of cotton from field to fashion more transparent and to test advanced solutions.

The pilot program includes both digital and physical traceability solutions to evaluate their performance in individual cotton supply chains. Tailorlux is one of the technology providers contributing their physical traceability solutions.

India is one of Better Cotton’s largest producers in the world. Its domestic supply chains are among the most complex in the world and more fragmented than in other regions. Better Cotton’s new traceability system must align with and eventually go beyond existing solutions to ensure full end-to-end transparency.

Better Cotton’s expanded chain-of-custody approach will be able to verify the origin of certified materials with greater accuracy, thanks to physical traceability. Tailorlux’ solutions will help enable greater flexibility and visibility of the physical flow of cotton through supply chains, expanding Better Cotton’s network.
